Benefits of electricity storage

Domestic battery storage is a fast-growing technology that enables the customer to cut their electricity bills and reduce carbon emissions by storing power from their solar or cheap overnight electricity to use when they need it.

Purpose of the trial

Powervault is collaborating with Octopus Energy to gain a better understanding on the energy consumption of electric hot water heating in a home, monitoring and controlling the Powervault 3 units to optimise storage and water heater performance against Octopus Energy’s Agile tariff.

There are a limited number of units available in this trial. Participants will be selected on a first come first served basis subject to the following requirements.

1. You must either be an existing owner of solar photovoltaic panels (generating electricity) or have a time-of-use tariff such as Economy 7 – or both!
2. You must have an internet connection within your home and be willing to keep the Powervault connected for the duration of the 12-month trial.
3. You must have space for the Powervault in your home (85cm high x 50cm wide x 58cm deep – about the size of an under-counter washing machine)
4. You must remain on the Octopus Agile energy tariff throughout the duration of the 6-month trial.
5. You must agree to Terms and Conditions of the trial and Powervault’s general Terms and Conditions of sale.
