Recycling your P5

 

The Powervault P5 contains a fire suppression pouch.  This is triggered in the event of a fire.  The pouch contains a fire suppressant which contains potassium nitrate, which is an explosive material.

 

Recyclers should take into account the presence of the pouch in their recycling process.

The pouch must be removed unless the recycler is confident that its recycling method can accommodate the presence of the pouch.

To remove the pouch:

(1) Remove the screws on the rear cover (see image).
(2) Remove the pouch from the location shown. The pouch is black with a yellow label.
(3) The pouch must be disposed of safely.
