Powervault – the company

Powervault is a British company, headquartered in London. Our aim is to be the UK’s
leading domestic electricity storage provider by 2020 and to expand into global
markets. In 2014 we launched the first fully integrated solar energy storage system
and are now developing a new Smart Home Battery which will provide customers
with the best return on investment available in the market.

Energy storage is an exciting and rapidly growing sector which the UK government
has estimated will help to save the UK £8bn/year by 2030, enabling us to move
towards 100% renewable energy.

The company aims to help home-owners lower their electricity bills, increase their
energy security and reduce their carbon footprint. Its an exciting time at
Powervault, having just raised over £1.6m from our latest crowd funding round. This
role will play a key part on supporting our rapid expansion plans.

Role

The Commercial Manager will report to the COO and will deliver a range of vital
projects across many areas of the business to support our rapid growth and
evolution from a start-up to a mass-market company.

This will include:

  • Managing the critical relationship with National Grid to deliver important new
    revenue streams for customers including FFR
  • Contracting with major suppliers, partners and customers
  • Managing cross-functional teams to deliver high priority trials and grants
  • Supporting the product develop team with supplier relationship development and
    commercial management
  • Supporting the business development team with account management by
    delivering major projects for customers
  • Other commercial and business process projects which arise

Qualities and experience:

  • Extremely bright
  • A strong background in the Energy sector and enthusiasm for renewables
    Strong interpersonal skills and experience in managing senior relationships
  • Experience of contracting and negotiations with major partners / suppliers /
    customers
  • Experience of successfully managing complex projects with a range of stakeholders
  • Flexible, self-starter who is excited by the prospect of getting involved in many
    different aspects of a growing start-up
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task and ruthlessly prioritise
  • Technology savvy some experience of tech sector is desirable
  • Quick learner, flexible and adaptable
  • Strong interpersonal skills – including the ability to constructively challenge colleagues and suppliers as well as a focus on customer service with key customers and delivery partners
